Meet Melissa!

Let's see......you want to know about me, huh?

I'm pretty simple.  I've been in love with the same man since I was 16 years old.  He is my best friend and we believe in each other....always have....always will.  We have 3 of the most beautiful children you'll ever lay eyes on!  I'm most comfortable in jeans and a t-shirt (baseball undershirts are my fave!) although I do love getting dressed up for a night out on the town.  Sushi Den, anyone?  I'm a southern girl through and through.  I love crawfish!  Give me a huge slice of chocolate cake with fudge icing and a cold coke and I'm in heaven!  I'm a Daddy's girl.  I love the outdoors and I am more than willing to take part in anything remotely competitive.  I hate to lose even more than I hate clutter.  I am a lover of practical jokes and was taught by the best.  This is why, to this day, I don't answer my Mother's phone calls on April Fool's Day.  I cherish my friends and family.  They are the ones that have made me who I am.  I love the Lord with all my heart.  He is my strength and my joy.  He has blessed me in every way!  Oh, yeah......and did I mention I LOVE photography!  It is my PASSION!

In my bag:  Nikon D700, 85mm f 1.4 and 50mm f 1.8

Colorado Reception {Mike & Erin}……..Denver area Event photographer

I’ve known Mike for a few years now.  I used to work along side him on staff at our church, and now he is my Pastor.  :)   Words cannot describe the man that Mike is.  He is so kind and caring.  He’s just an all around good guy!

Erin came into his life not too long ago and I have loved getting to know her more in this past year.  They are perfect for each other and are truly in love….I know, because I see it on their faces everytime they are together.  Love is such a great thing!  I’m a fan.

They had a beautiful wedding in February, in California, but I was unable to attend.  You can check some of the image from that day, here.  Their photographer did a fantastic job.  I’m always in awe of wedding photographers.  It is such a big job and one that honestly scares me to death.  Anyhoo…..I hated to miss it, but I was so excited to hear of a CO Reception that was being planned by Mike’s parents, for those of us that weren’t able to make the wedding.

The reception was at Maggiano’s and there was dinner and dancing and a great time of hanging with other friends and family.  I was so grateful to be asked to bring my camera along and take some shots.  It was so much fun meeting everyone and just being a part of that great celebration!

I am posting a few of my favorites from that night.  You can also view a slideshow I put together.
