Whether it is your first or fifth bundle of joy, it doesn’t matter…..they’re ALL special! There is nothing like that 1st year to keep you on your toes. Everytime you turn around there is another major milestone to see and share. What better way to guarantee you don’t miss one, by booking a “Baby’s 1st Year” Session with me! It is such a fun way to look back at all the moments of that first year of life and cherish the wonderful miracle you have been given!
Details:
A Baby’s 1st Year session with me is $750. The session fee is for my time and talent as the photographer. It is a non-refundable fee, if you choose to cancel. It can be split into two payments. The first payment will be due upon booking the first session and the second payment will be due at the mid-year session. Included in a “Baby’s 1st Year” session are 4 shoots, Maternity, Newborn, 6 Months old (or when baby can sit up unassisted) and 1 year old. All shoots generally last 90 minutes (Newborn session can sometimes be longer) and will allow for one outfit change. You can receive a copy of my portrait agreement via email or it can be download here once you have the entry password. You will be asked to read over this, sign it and mail it back to me before your session.
Where and When?:
I do mostly on-location shoots. I like to talk with my clients personally during our pre-session consultation to come up with a “perfect fit” location. This may be in your own home, a park, an urban location, etc. Generally for newborn sessions, I like to be in the client’s home. I am always scouting out new locations for my clients because I don’t like to shoot in the same location more than once. I like to shoot in the early morning (few hours after sunrise) or early evening (few hours before sunset) to ensure great light and great images! These time will vary based on the time of year your session is booked.
During the Sessions. What to consider:
Maternity:
I like to schedule maternity shoots during the end of the 7th month or early in the 8th month. We can pick a fun location outdoors or I can come to your home. I want to capture you in all your glow, but will allow your significant other or older children in some of the pictures as well. Dress in what you feel is comfortable for you and your style. Button up shirts and tanks usually photograph well.
Newborn:
Newborn sessions need to be scheduled within the first 14 days after birth. There is a very small window of time when they are perfect for getting those sweet, sleepy, curled-up poses that we all know and love! All newborn sessions will take place in your home, thus allowing a warm, comfortable atmosphere for baby and family both! We can venture outside for some photographs if baby and weather allow. I tend to put a very open time frame on my newborn shoots, as I know how important it is to keep baby on schedule and to stay flexible. I will say 2 hours, but I am willing to stay until I feel we have captured the best possible images!
6 Months old “Mid-Year” Session (Sitting-up unassisted):
I like to schedule this session when baby is sitting up on their own, unassisted. This allows for the best possible images for this age group, as I don’t like to prop them up on objects or have them hurt themselves by falling over during the shoot. I realize sometimes sitting up can come earlier or later than 6 months of age so it will be up to you to let me know when they have mastered this milestone!
1 Year old Session:
The 1 year old session is such a fun shoot! It happens sooner than you’d think! I am willing to capture your child in a normal setting or if you wish I can show up at their 1st birthday party for some fun, in the moment, celebratory shots!
After the Session:
After the session, if they allow, all clients can choose to view a “Sneak Peek” on my blog a few days after their session. Please allow up to 2 weeks for editing and final images to be posted in a password-protected online gallery. Once posted, clients will have 3 weeks to view images before making their order. Each “Baby’s 1st Year” session will include a $60.00 print credit. This print credit can only be used with my a la carte prints.
