Melissa Hatcher Photography – Photo Blog bio picture

Meet Melissa!

Let's see......you want to know about me, huh?

I'm pretty simple.  I've been in love with the same man since I was 16 years old.  He is my best friend and we believe in each other....always have....always will.  We have 3 of the most beautiful children you'll ever lay eyes on!  I'm most comfortable in jeans and a t-shirt (baseball undershirts are my fave!) although I do love getting dressed up for a night out on the town.  Sushi Den, anyone?  I'm a southern girl through and through.  I love crawfish!  Give me a huge slice of chocolate cake with fudge icing and a cold coke and I'm in heaven!  I'm a Daddy's girl.  I love the outdoors and I am more than willing to take part in anything remotely competitive.  I hate to lose even more than I hate clutter.  I am a lover of practical jokes and was taught by the best.  This is why, to this day, I don't answer my Mother's phone calls on April Fool's Day.  I cherish my friends and family.  They are the ones that have made me who I am.  I love the Lord with all my heart.  He is my strength and my joy.  He has blessed me in every way!  Oh, yeah......and did I mention I LOVE photography!  It is my PASSION!

In my bag:  Nikon D700, 85mm f 1.4 and 50mm f 1.8

Project 52 {4/52} “Soothing Repetition”

Here’s a pic of my little man practicing writing his name!  I don’t know how soothing it is for him, but he doesn’t seem to mind the repetition.  He is doing such a great job in Kindergarten this year.  I’m so proud!

Project 52 {3/52} Shades of Gray

This week’s challenge was harder than I thought it would be.  I ended up not really coming up with a “Shades of Gray” picture idea.  I did however come up with a picture from this week.
My oldest was in her very first ever Spelling Bee this week.  She has been studying for weeks and was...

The Magic of B/W

I am one that LOVES color!  The more color, the happier I am.  Because of this you rarely see me post a black and white image.  I really have to make myself even change the photo to black in white in photoshop.  On the rare occasion I do this change, I sometimes come to see the...

Merging

To merge or not to merge?   That is the question.
I’m so excited to have launched my new blog.  Although it is not yet completed, I’m blown away at the versatility and numerous options I can create.  I still have my website up and running, but more and more I’m contemplating the merging of the two...

Back home

I flew back into Denver last night after spending the past few days in Grand Rapids, Michigan. I was there to attend a workshop with the fabulous Amy Wenzel. She is a fantastic photography that specializes in children and Senior girls. I was not only going to pick her brain and become what she calls...

I’m in love!

I wish I could describe to you the way my heart lept out of my chest when I drove up to my house after lunch and saw that little box sitting on my porch. My son was probably thinking to himself, why is my mom giggling? I raced inside to open it and gazed at...
